Lucian Freud

Sun in Sagittarius governs the ego's appetite for experience, and Sagittarius specifically runs on expansion — new territory, new encounters, new versions of what a life can contain. It does not naturally move toward consolidation. Pair that with Mars in Aquarius, which routes desire through novelty and detachment rather than sustained commitment, and you get a person whose relational pattern is serially generative rather than cumulative. Mars in Aquarius is not cold, but it is not built for the long enclosure of a single partnership. It wants freedom of movement. Moon in Leo is the placement that explains the long return. Leo Moon attaches to people it has claimed as its own — and claimed is the right word, because Leo Moon does not hold people loosely. It forms deep loyalties and it wants those loyalties reciprocated through continued presence. Painting the same sitter across years is, from a Leo Moon perspective, a form of sustained devotion: the subject matters enough to keep looking. The Scorpio Venus compounds this. Scorpio Venus does not exhaust its interest in a subject quickly — it believes there is always more to find, and it will keep excavating until it is satisfied, which is rarely. The combination produces someone who returns to the same faces the way other people return to the same questions.
